Community Guidelines
1. Who These Guidelines Apply To
These Community Guidelines apply to all persons who access or use the 4expats Community platform at www.4expats.ai, including:

All registered members, regardless of verification level

All service providers listed in the community directory
-
Founding partners and ambassador members
-
Any person browsing public-facing community content
These Guidelines are incorporated by reference into the 4expats Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of these Guidelines as amended from time to time.
2. The 4expats Community Standard
4expats Community is a trusted, verified community. Its value depends entirely on the integrity of every person in it. We hold every member and provider to a higher standard than a typical internet platform because trust — not volume — is our product.
Our community standard is simple: behave the way you would want others to behave toward you and toward your fellow expats. Be honest. Be respectful. Be helpful. Protect the trust others have placed in this community.
3. Member Conduct Rules
3.1 Respect and Dignity
All members must treat every other person on the platform — members, providers, and platform staff — with respect and dignity.
The following conduct is strictly prohibited:

Hate speech, discrimination, or derogatory statements based on nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic

Harassment, intimidation, threats, or bullying of any kind, whether in public interactions or through any platform communication channel

Personal attacks, insults, or deliberate humiliation of any community member or provider
-
Sharing or creating content designed to demean, shame, or harm another person
3.2 Honesty and Accurate Representation
The 4expats Community operates on verified identity and accurate information. Deception of any kind undermines everyone.
The following are prohibited:

Misrepresenting your identity, nationality, professional background, or expat status
-
Creating fake accounts, sock puppets, or multiple accounts for any purpose
-
Impersonating another person, company, or organisation
-
Providing false information during the registration or verification process
-
Claiming credentials, affiliations, or experience you do not possess
3.3 Vouching Integrity
Terminology: The act of expressing trust in a provider on this platform is called vouching. References to "a vouch" or "vouching" throughout this document refer to this action.
The community vouch is the core trust signal of the 4expats platform. Manipulating vouches corrupts the entire system.
The following are strictly prohibited:

Vouching for a provider based on compensation, incentives, gifts, or favours of any kind

Vouching for a provider you have not personally engaged with or assessed
-
Coordinating with others to inflate or suppress vouches for any provider
-
Attempting to vouch using multiple accounts or through proxy accounts
-
Pressuring, soliciting, or incentivising other members to vouch in a particular way
Members should vouch only when they have a genuine basis for doing so, grounded in personal experience or credible community knowledge.
3.4 Private Comments — Quality and Fairness
Private comments submitted about providers are reviewed by the 4expats moderation team and used to generate AI-powered community summaries. Because these comments inform other expats' decisions, they carry responsibility.
Comments must be:

Based on genuine personal experience or reliable community knowledge

Factual, specific, and constructive
-
Fair and proportionate to the experience described
Comments must not contain:

False or fabricated claims about a provider
-
Hate speech, discriminatory language, or personal attacks
-
Threats, extortionate language, or demands
-
Promotion of competing services or solicitation of any kind
-
Personal identifying information about third parties not involved in the transaction
3.5 One Person, One Account
Each individual may hold only one member account on the 4expats Community platform. A member may also hold a provider role within that same account (a dual role), but may not create a separate, independent account.
The creation of secondary accounts for any purpose — including circumventing a suspension, inflating vouches, or gaining additional referral credits — is grounds for immediate permanent removal.
3.6 No Spam or Unsolicited Promotion
The platform is a trust community, not a marketplace. The following are prohibited:

Sending unsolicited commercial messages, advertisements, or promotions to other members

Using the platform's referral or invitation system to mass-solicit strangers
-
Submitting private comments that promote products, services, or competing platforms
-
Using any platform feature for commercial solicitation outside its intended purpose
3.7 Privacy and Confidentiality
Members have a responsibility to protect each other's privacy.

Do not share other members' personal information outside the platform
-
Do not screenshot, copy, or redistribute private platform communications
-
Do not attempt to identify, contact, or locate members through external channels based on information obtained through the platform
-
Respect the confidential nature of the platform's moderation processes
4. Provider Conduct Rules
4.1 Professional Conduct
Providers on the 4expats Community represent themselves to a verified, trust-sensitive audience. Providers must:

Maintain accurate, up-to-date profiles at all times
-
Respond to member Express Interest requests professionally and within a reasonable timeframe
-
Honour the availability, pricing transparency, and scope of services stated in their profile
-
Disclose any material conflicts of interest or limitations on their services
4.2 Credential Accuracy
Providers are required to accurately represent their credentials, licences, registrations, and professional standing. Providers must promptly notify 4expats if:

Their licence, registration, or certification status changes
-
They cease to operate in a listed location or service area
-
Their business structure, ownership, or legal entity changes materially
Submitting false or misleading credential information is grounds for immediate removal and may be reported to the relevant regulatory authority.
4.3 Non-Discrimination
Providers may not refuse service to any community member based on nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any protected characteristic. The affinity-based trust system reflects member preferences, not provider exclusion rights. Every provider is expected to serve any qualified member who contacts them through the platform.
4.4 No Vouch or Review Manipulation
Providers are strictly prohibited from:

Soliciting, incentivising, or compensating members to vouch for them
-
Creating or contributing to fake member accounts for the purpose of self-promotion
-
Coordinating with others to artificially boost or suppress community trust signals
-
Offering discounts, gifts, or referrals contingent on receiving a positive community signal
5. AI-Generated Summary Reviews
5.1 Provider Right to Request Review
Providers who believe an AI-generated community summary on their profile is materially inaccurate, misleading, or unfair may request a review by contacting support@4expats.ai. Requests should include the specific portion of the summary in question and the basis for the concern.
5.2 Review Process
4expats will review the underlying private comments and the AI-generated summary. At its sole discretion, 4expats may:
- Regenerate the summary from the existing comment pool
- Remove the summary if the underlying data is insufficient or unreliable
- Take no action if the summary reasonably reflects the submitted comments
Summary review decisions are final. 4expats will not disclose the identity of individual comment authors or the text of individual comments to the provider.
6. Reporting Concerns
6.1 How to Report
Members who observe a violation of these Guidelines should use the Report mechanism on the relevant profile or content. Reports can be submitted for:

Inaccurate or misleading provider information

Unprofessional or inappropriate provider conduct

Suspected fraudulent activity or impersonation
-
Harassment, hate speech, or discrimination
-
Vouch manipulation or integrity concerns
Alternatively, concerns may be emailed directly to support@4expats.ai.
6.2 Good-Faith Reporting
We encourage members to report genuine concerns. Filing false, bad-faith, or retaliatory reports is itself a violation of these Guidelines and may result in action against the reporting member.
7. Enforcement
7.1 Enforcement Actions
4expats reserves the right to take any of the following actions in response to violations of these Guidelines:

Formal written warning

Temporary suspension of account features (e.g., vouching, commenting, Express Interest)
-
Suspension of the account for a defined period
-
Permanent removal from the community
-
Removal from the provider directory
-
Reporting to relevant professional regulatory bodies (for licensed providers)
7.2 Escalation Framework
Minor violations (first occurrence, low harm): Written warning with explanation of violation. Member or provider must acknowledge and agree to comply.
Moderate violations (repeated conduct, misleading claims, vouch irregularities): Temporary suspension of 7 to 30 days. Review period before reinstatement.
Severe violations (fraud, impersonation, discrimination, coordinated manipulation): Immediate suspension pending investigation. Permanent removal if confirmed.
EU/EEA residents: Notwithstanding the above, if you reside in the European Union or European Economic Area, nothing in this escalation framework limits any rights you may have under the mandatory consumer protection or procedural fairness laws of your country of residence. EU/EEA residents may challenge enforcement actions through applicable local legal channels regardless of the tier of violation.
7.3 Appeals
Members or providers who believe an enforcement action was made in error may appeal by emailing support@4expats.ai within 14 days of the action. Include: your account email, the action taken, and your explanation.
Appeals are reviewed by a senior team member not involved in the original decision. Final decisions on appeals are at 4expats' sole discretion, subject to any mandatory rights applicable in your jurisdiction of residence.
7.4 No Entitlement to Notice
In cases of severe violations — including fraud, impersonation, coordinated abuse, or content that poses immediate harm to community members — 4expats reserves the right to take immediate action without prior notice or warning.
8. Changes to These Guidelines
4expats reserves the right to update these Guidelines at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered members via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Guidelines.
