1. 4expats Is a Discovery and Trust Platform — Not a Professional Services Provider

4expats, Inc. ("4expats") operates a platform designed to help expatriate community members discover and evaluate service providers through verified identity signals and affinity-based peer trust indicators. 4expats is not itself a provider of legal, financial, medical, immigration, tax, childcare, educational, relocation, insurance, or any other professional or regulated service.

All professional services are delivered independently by the listed providers. Any engagement you enter into with a provider is directly between you and that provider. 4expats is not a party to that engagement and has no responsibility or liability for it.

2. What Our Verification Means — and What It Does Not

2.1 What Verification Covers

4expats conducts a manual review of provider applications. For each provider type, verification is designed to confirm:

• Identity: The provider is who they say they are (name, business name, identity documents)

• Credentials: For licensed professionals — that a licence or registration number was active and in good standing at the time of review

• Business Existence: For registered businesses — that the entity exists and is registered in the stated jurisdiction

• Contact and Location: That the contact details and physical locations provided are plausible and consistent

2.2 What Verification Does Not Cover

Verification does NOT mean that 4expats has:

• Conducted ongoing monitoring of a provider's licence status after the initial verification date

• Assessed the quality, competence, or performance of any provider's professional services

• Investigated the provider's history of complaints, disciplinary actions, or malpractice claims

• Confirmed that the provider is currently in good standing with their regulatory body

• Assessed the provider's suitability for your specific situation or needs

• Verified the accuracy of provider-submitted descriptions, availability, or pricing information

2.3 Verification Date

The date of a provider's most recent verification review is displayed on their profile. Verification reflects the provider's status at the time of review only. Members should consider the age of the verification when making decisions, as a provider's licence status, business registration, or professional standing may have changed since the verification date.

2.4 Community Trust Signals Are Peer Signals, Not Professional Endorsements

The "Community Trusted" badge and the associated vouch counts and affinity breakdowns (e.g., "Trusted by 8 Italian expats in Miami") represent the voluntary opinions of verified community members. These signals:

• Reflect the personal experience or impression of individual community members

• Are not a substitute for professional references, regulatory assessments, or independent due diligence

• May be based on a limited number of interactions or interactions that predate the current period

• Do not imply that the provider meets any professional standard or regulatory requirement

• May change over time and are not continuously curated by 4expats staff

2.5 AI-Generated Community Summaries

Some provider profiles display an AI-generated text summary labelled "What expats say about this provider." This summary:

• Is generated automatically from private comments submitted by verified members

• Is not reviewed or fact-checked by 4expats staff before publication

• May contain errors, omissions, or impressions that do not reflect the full picture

• Should not be relied upon as a professional reference or assessment

• Is provided for informational purposes only

3. No Endorsement

The listing of any provider in the 4expats Community directory, and the award of any certification badge (including "Verified" or "Community Trusted"), does NOT constitute:

• An endorsement, recommendation, or referral by 4expats of that provider or their services

• A guarantee, representation, or warranty by 4expats regarding the quality, safety, legality, or suitability of any service

• A statement by 4expats that the provider is currently licensed, insured, or compliant with applicable regulations

• An assurance by 4expats that the provider will perform their services to any particular standard

4expats is not a professional referral service and does not make provider recommendations in any capacity.

4. No Guarantee of Service Quality or Outcome

4expats makes no guarantee, express or implied, regarding:

• The quality, timeliness, or completeness of any service delivered by a listed provider

• The outcome of any professional engagement with a listed provider

• The accuracy of any professional advice, opinion, or document produced by a listed provider

• The compatibility of any provider's services with your specific circumstances, jurisdiction, or requirements

• The ongoing availability of any provider to take new clients

Professional outcomes depend on many factors outside 4expats' knowledge or control, including the specific facts of your situation, the laws and regulations of your jurisdiction, market conditions, and the individual performance of the provider.

5. Member's Responsibility for Due Diligence

Before engaging any provider you discover through the 4expats Community, you are solely responsible for conducting appropriate due diligence. This should include, as relevant to the type of service:

• Independently verifying the provider's current licence or registration status with the relevant regulatory authority

• Checking the provider's disciplinary history, complaint records, or professional standing

• Requesting and checking professional references

• Confirming the provider is covered by appropriate professional indemnity or liability insurance

• Understanding the scope and terms of the engagement before signing any agreement

• Seeking a second opinion where the stakes are significant (e.g., immigration decisions, tax filings, medical treatment)

6. No Liability for Provider Conduct or Third-Party Services

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, 4EXPATS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR:

• Any act, omission, negligence, misconduct, or fraud of any listed provider

• Any loss, damage, cost, or expense you suffer as a result of engaging with a provider you discovered through the Platform

• Any professional advice, representation, or service provided or not provided by a listed provider

• Any dispute between you and a provider arising out of a service engagement

• Any failure by a provider to perform their obligations to you

• Any misleading, inaccurate, or outdated information on a provider's profile that the provider submitted

4EXPATS IS NOT A PARTY TO ANY ENGAGEMENT BETWEEN A MEMBER AND A PROVIDER. ALL DISPUTES MUST BE RESOLVED DIRECTLY BETWEEN THE MEMBER AND THE PROVIDER OR, IF NECESSARY, THROUGH THE PROVIDER'S REGULATORY BODY OR APPLICABLE LEGAL CHANNELS.

7. Founding Partner Providers

Certain providers have been designated as "Founding Partners" of the 4expats Community. This designation reflects their early participation in and contribution to the community, not any additional verification of their service quality or professional standing. The same disclaimers and limitations in this document apply equally to Founding Partners.

8. Regulatory Bodies — Know Your Rights

If you engage a licensed professional and have a concern about their conduct, you have the right to escalate to the relevant professional regulatory body. The appropriate body depends on the provider's profession and the jurisdiction in which they are licensed. A non-exhaustive reference follows.

8.1 Portugal and the European Union

8.3 Other Jurisdictions

If you are engaging a provider licensed in a country not listed above, contact 4expats at support@4expats.ai and we will help you identify the appropriate regulatory body. You may also consult your national consumer protection agency or a local lawyer.

4expats is not a regulatory body and has no authority to arbitrate professional disputes or compel provider conduct.

9. Reporting Provider Concerns

If you have a concern about a listed provider's conduct on the platform — including inaccurate information, unprofessional behaviour, or suspected fraud — you may report it to 4expats via:

• The "Report" button on the provider's profile

4expats will review reports in accordance with the escalation process in the Community Guidelines. However, 4expats cannot compel a provider to take any action, provide refunds, or alter any professional engagement already in progress.

10. Amendments

4expats reserves the right to update this Disclaimer at any time. The current version is always available at www.4expats.ai/legal/provider-disclaimer. Your continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Disclaimer. Material changes will be communicated to registered members at least 14 days in advance.

11. Governing Law

4expats, Inc. is incorporated as a Delaware corporation with primary operations in Florida, United States. This Disclaimer is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. EU/EEA Consumer Rights

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, nothing in this Disclaimer — including the limitation of liability or the governing law provisions — limits any rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

In particular, EU/EEA residents retain:

• Rights under applicable national consumer protection legislation
• The right to bring claims before the courts of their country of residence
• Any rights provided by EU Directive 2019/771 (Sale of Goods Directive) or Directive 2019/770 (Digital Content Directive) to the extent applicable
• The right to access the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

In the event of any conflict between this Disclaimer and the mandatory consumer protection laws of an EU/EEA member state, the local mandatory laws prevail.
